Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will not be on Hawaii’s ballot in 2024
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has withdrawn from the 2024 presidential ballot in Hawaii.
In a memo dated Friday, September 6, 2024 which was sent to We the People of Hawaii as well as Hawaii’s Office of Elections, he states:
“It is with a heavy heart that I and my Vice Presidential running mate Nicole A. Shanahan withdraw our Declarations of Intent to be included as We the People of Hawaii candidates for President and Vice President of the United States on the 2024 General Election ballot in the State of Hawaii.
“I want to thank all the volunteers and supporters who fought to get me on the ballot. I hope you will understand the reasons that I made this agonizing choice. It was your hard work that put me in a position where I can now go forward to best accomplish the underlying mission of our campaign by fighting to get Donald Trump in the White House and me in Washington were I can help end the corruption and censorship and restore our children’s health.”
- Robert F. Kennedy, Jr
Listen in full to Mr. Kennedy’s address to the nation on August 23rd to understand why he chose to suspend his campaign, endorse President Trump, and ultimately withdraw his candidacy in Hawaii and other states.
Mr. Kennedy’s decision does not diminish our efforts or our commitment to the issues for which he stands. He and Nicole Shanahan represent the seeds of change and have served as inspiration for what’s possible through independent political parties such as We the People.
Our roots run deep. This people-powered movement has not been easy. We started with a committed group of volunteers across the islands who petitioned throughout January and February of 2024, collecting of thousands signatures to create We the People. We stood strong against the Democratic Party of Hawaii who challenged our petition filings and even individuals who’ve tried to thwart the formation and reputation of our party. Despite all the challenges, we have prevailed thanks to the relentless efforts of grassroots volunteers who have been the heart and soul of this movement.
We the People of Hawaii remains committed to issues that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Nicole A. Shanahan have spoken to extensively and have now elevated to a national conversation. Just as they work together with coalitions across the political divide to “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA), we will continue to advance policies and programs which are critical to the health of the people and land of Hawaii, including regenerative agriculture, food sovereignty, ending the chronic disease epidemic, and removing toxins from our environment.
